TuxGuitar is a music project from Argentina that offers you an excellent alternative to the known software GuitarPro. The application is a multitrack reader and player of tablatures and score of your favorite songs, and you can create your own guitar tablatures as well. It has a very intuitive interface containing all the necessary tools to create stunning music.
Some key features of TuxGuitar:
- TuxGuitar currently supports several file formats. Besides its internal .tg format, it can open and play all Guitar Pro formats (.gtp, .gp3, .gp4, .gp5) and also a PowerTab format (.ptb).
- Matrix Editor. This is a useful tool for editing the percussion tracks. Basically, it divides the current measure into segments and displays the possible percussion sounds.
- Custom skins supported. The skins modify toolbar icons and dialog buttons. There are two skins included in the program: Ersplus and Blue_serious.
- Plugins supported. Some of the plugins are delivered with the distribution, but there are plugins you can download and enable manually.
- Batch converter. It allows you to convert number of files from various file formats (*.gpX, *.ptb, *.tef, *.tg) into destination file format, keeping the file names but changing the format. |
